Customizing the post-login redirect allows you to send guests to a specific webpage immediately after they authenticate on your WiFi—whether that's your homepage, a special promotion, a menu, booking page, or any other destination that serves your business goals. By default, Spotipo redirects to Google, but changing this to your own URL creates an immediate engagement opportunity with captive guests.
Find the option in settings
Process for changing the redirect URL is very simple. All you have to do is find the option in your settings and change the URL. The option can be found under
Settings->General->Redirect
Changing the URL
Once you found the option, all you have to do is change the URL from https://google.com/ to that of the website you'd like users to see once they log in to your WiFi (in this example we'll be using https://example.com/).
Once URL is saved, make sure to press Save Settings button as well.
Test things out
To make sure that everything is set up correctly without opening the actual portal, there is a demo page, from which you can test things out. It can be found under
Splash Page -> View Demo
From there, you'll get a simulated process of the captive portal's behavior, which will enable you to test the changes out.
Your Custom Redirect Is Now Active
Once you've changed the redirect URL and saved your settings, all guests who authenticate through your captive portal will be directed to your custom webpage instead of Google. This creates an immediate touchpoint with guests who are already engaged and physically present at your location.
What to do next:
Test the redirect using the View Demo feature before going live
Monitor analytics on your redirect destination page to track WiFi-driven traffic
Update the redirect URL seasonally or for special promotions
Testing your redirect: Use Spotipo's built-in demo mode to verify your redirect works correctly without actually connecting to WiFi. Navigate to Splash Page → View Demo to simulate the complete login and redirect experience.
Redirect best practices:
Ensure the destination page is mobile-optimized (most guests use phones)
Choose URLs that load quickly to avoid frustrating newly-connected guests
Update redirect URLs for seasonal promotions or campaigns
Track conversion rates from WiFi redirects to measure effectiveness
