How to Configure Cambium cnMaestro with Spotipo

Cambium cnMaestro provides cloud-based management for Cambium Networks WiFi infrastructure. Integrating Spotipo's external hotspot portal with cnMaestro adds email capture, social login, and paid WiFi access capabilities while leveraging Cambium's enterprise-grade performance and centralized management.

This guide walks you through creating a Cambium cnMaestro site in Spotipo, configuring guest access with external portal mode, and setting up RADIUS authentication and accounting servers.

What you'll accomplish:

  • Create a Cambium cnMaestro site in Spotipo and generate configuration details

  • Configure external hotspot portal in cnMaestro guest access

  • Set up RADIUS authentication and accounting servers

  • Configure whitelist settings for Spotipo and social login domains

What you'll need:

  • Cambium cnMaestro account with admin access

  • Cambium access points managed through cnMaestro

  • Active Spotipo account (start free trial)

Add an Cambium Cnmaestro Site in Spotipo

If you still need to do so, please create a Site with Cambium Cnmaestro as the WiFi router. Please see this article on how to create a site.

Get Config Details from Spotipo

After adding the site, navigate to Settings -> Cambium cnMaestro

Configure cnMaestro Guest Access

Login to your cnMaestro account and navigate to the Guest Access section. Set the following values here.

  • Enable Guest Access

  • Select portal mode as External Hotspot

  • Set Access Policy as RADIUS

  • Set AP Server Protocol as HTTP

  • Under External Page URL, paste the Splash URL from Spotipo

  • Set External Portal type as Standard

  • Select Redirect User to external URL as the success action

  • Enable Prefix query settings in Redirect URL

  • Paste the Post Auth URL from spotipo as the Redirect URL

Configure Advanced Settings

Set the advanced settings as below

Whitelist Settings

Under whitelist settings, enter app.spotipo.com.

If you are using a white-labeled domain, could you add that as well

Do add the Stripe domains for payment-based hotspots.

Facebook domains need to be added if you want to enable Facebook login.

Make sure to press Save,

Configure AAA settings

Navigate to AAA settings - Authentication server

  • Enter Primary server Ip from spotipo as Host 1

  • Secondary server as Host 2.

  • Enter the secret copied from Spotipo

Under the accounting server

  • Enter Primary server Ip from spotipo as Host 1

  • Secondary server as Host 2.

  • Enter the secret copied from Spotipo

  • Set Accounting Mode as Start-Interim-Stop

  • Set Interim update interval to 300

Under Advanced Settings

  • Set Server Pool mode as failover

  • NAS-identifier as custom and use the value from Spotipo dashboard

  • Enable Dynamic Authorization

  • Set the Called Station ID as Ap-MAC

Save the settings and connect a device to the Wireless network; you should see the splash page.

Cambium cnMaestro Captive Portal Active

After configuring guest access, AAA settings, and whitelist domains in cnMaestro, connect a device to your wireless network to verify the splash page appears correctly. Guests can now authenticate through Spotipo's captive portal.

What to do next:

  • Test the captive portal by connecting a device to your WiFi

  • Customize your splash page design in Spotipo dashboard

  • Set up email marketing integrations to sync guest contacts

Configuration checklist:

  • Portal mode set to "External Hotspot"

  • Access policy set to "RADIUS"

  • Whitelist includes app.spotipo.com (and white-label domain if applicable)

  • NAS-identifier set to custom value from Spotipo

  • Dynamic Authorization enabled
