How to configure Spotipo with Grandstream routers

Written by Matija Farkaš

Find configuration details

For this step to work, you first need to have a site created with the GrandStream site type. Once your site is created, you need to find the connection details in Spotipo. This can be done by going to Settings -> Grandstream Config.

Here, you'll be provided with your connection details, such as Radius servers, secret, NAS ID, URL, etc.

Configure Grandstream

Once you have your connection details, go to your Grandstream router and do the following:

  1. Go to Captive Portal -> Policy List and Add a new Policy List.

  2. In the new menu, fill in the information from Spotipo's "Grandstream Config" screen. As well as match the data to the screenshot below.

  3. Add spotipo domain into the Auth Rule section. This will allow portal to open, and to block all other traffic on the network

NOTE: If you want to allow paid login on your Grandstream site, add the following domains in the Auth rule section:

  • js.stripe.com

  • q.stripe.com

  • api.stripe.com

  • m.stripe.com

Once you're done, save the changes.

Apply Captive portal Policy to your SSID

Once your policy is set up, all you have to do is add it to your SSID of choice. To do that, go to the SSID screen, select the SSID that you'd like to use the Spotipo Captive portal, and apply the Policy under the Captive portal setting.

You do not have to change the rest of your SSID settings, only the Captive Portal Policy one.

If you've done everything correctly, connecting to your edited SSID should now provide you with the captive portal. If you're still having trouble seeing it, try forgetting the network on your mobile device, or try connecting to the network with a device that hasn't already been connected.
