Mailchimp integration automatically exports guest WiFi data to your email marketing lists, eliminating manual imports and enabling immediate campaigns to visitors. Every guest who connects to your WiFi is automatically added as a subscriber in Mailchimp with optional tags, segments, and consent filtering.

This guide walks you through connecting Mailchimp to Spotipo, authorizing access, selecting your audience list, and configuring advanced options like tags and consent-based filtering.

What you'll accomplish:

  • Connect Spotipo to your Mailchimp account via OAuth

  • Select target audience list for guest data

  • Configure consent-based filtering and tagging

  • Enable automatic guest subscriber synchronization

What you'll need:

  • Active Mailchimp account

  • Spotipo account with guest WiFi configured

  • Mailchimp audience list created for WiFi guests

Configuring automatic data export to Mailchimp

Go to the location you want to configure data export for by clicking on the drop-down menu in the top right corner.

Once in the location, go to Integrations by clicking the tab on left, and click on Mailchimp->Connect.

On the next screen, press Connect To Mailchimp button. You will be redirected to Mailchimp, please login with your credentials.

Authorize Spotipo To Access your Mailchimp Account

In the next screen, you will be presented with a screen like below, click Allow to enable the connection between Spotipo and Mailchimp.

Select the Mailchimp Audience List

From the drop-down in the next step, select to which audience list should Spotipo send the data collected from WiFi hotspot guests.

Advanced Configurations

Optionally, you can configure.

  • Only explicitly consented Guests will be exported to Mailchimp

  • Add one or more tags applied to Guests

  • Add guests to a static segment

Additional Field Mapping

By default, Spotipo syncs the Name and email of a Guest with Mailchimp. If you want to customize the fields, check out Field Mapping.

Mailchimp Integration Active

Once you've authorized Spotipo and selected your audience list, guests connecting to your WiFi are automatically added to Mailchimp. You can now create email campaigns targeting WiFi visitors with configured tags and segments.

What to do next:

  • Test integration by connecting a device and verifying the subscriber appears in Mailchimp

  • Create welcome email automations for new WiFi subscribers

  • Use tags to segment campaigns by location or login method

Advanced configuration options:

  • Consent filtering: Export only guests who explicitly opt in to marketing

  • Tagging: Automatically apply tags for campaign segmentation

  • Static segments: Add guests to specific Mailchimp segments for targeted campaigns
