Two-factor authentication adds critical security to your Spotipo account by requiring both your password and a time-based code from your authenticator app.

This prevents unauthorized access even if your password is compromised, protecting your guest WiFi data, payment settings, and business information.

This guide walks you through enabling 2FA for your Spotipo account using authenticator apps like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator.

What you'll accomplish:

  • Enable two-factor authentication on your Spotipo account

  • Set up the authenticator app with QR code or manual entry

  • Add an extra security layer to protect guest data and settings

  • Require verification code for all future logins

What you'll need:

  • Active Spotipo account

  • Authenticator app installed (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.)

  • Smartphone or device for authenticator app

Steps to Enable 2FA

  • Login to your Spotipo account and click on the Profile icon on top right

  • In your Account page, navigate to the Security tab

  • Click on the "Enable Two Factor Authentication" button

  • Use a 2FA authenticator app like Google Authenticator and scan the QR code displayed.

  • Optionally you can manually enter the secret key if your app doesn't support reading QR codes

  • After adding the 2FA profile, please enter the generated QR code and press Verify & Activate.

  • Once enabled, you would be asked for the 2FA code next time you login

Two-Factor Authentication Enabled

After scanning the QR code and verifying your first authentication code, 2FA is active on your account. You'll need both your password and authenticator code for all future logins.

What to do next:

  • Save backup codes if provided (for account recovery)

  • Test 2FA by logging out and back in

  • Ensure the authenticator app is backed up or synced

Authenticator app recommendations:

  • Google Authenticator: Simple, reliable, widely used

  • Authy: Cloud backup, multi-device sync

  • Microsoft Authenticator: Cloud backup, additional features

Important security reminders:

  • Keep the authenticator app backed up or synced

  • Don't share authentication codes with anyone

  • Contact support immediately if you lose access to the authenticator
