Configuring your UniFi Cloud Key with Spotipo's captive portal transforms your guest WiFi into a customer engagement platform with email capture, social login, and paid access capabilities. This integration connects your Cloud Key to Spotipo's cloud authentication system, enabling advanced guest management features while maintaining UniFi's reliable network performance.

This guide walks you through the complete setup process for UniFi Cloud Key devices, including controller configuration in Spotipo, guest control settings in UniFi, and SSID-level guest policy activation. The setup takes approximately 15-20 minutes and works with all UniFi Cloud Key generations.

What you'll accomplish:

  • Connect your UniFi Cloud Key to Spotipo with admin credentials

  • Configure external portal authentication in UniFi guest control settings

  • Set up pre-authorization access for Spotipo servers

  • Enable guest policy on your WiFi SSID

What you'll need:

  • UniFi Cloud Key (Gen1, Gen2, or Gen2 Plus) with admin access

  • Public IP address or reverse tunnel capability for remote access

  • Active Spotipo account (start free trial)

  • Admin credentials for your UniFi controller

Important: Your Cloud Key must be accessible from Spotipo's servers. Ensure you have a public IP or configure reverse tunnel access before starting this setup.

  • Enter credentials to the controller and click Next.

  • Enter the Unifi site in which you want to enable Spotipo and press Finish.

Guests connecting to your WiFi will be redirected to Spotipo's authentication page—and you can start capturing guest data, running marketing campaigns, or offering paid WiFi access.

What to do next:

  • Test the captive portal by connecting a device to your guest WiFi network

  • Customize your splash page design to match your branding

  • Set up email marketing integrations to automatically sync guest contacts
